BOVESPA

The Bolsa de Valores do Estado de São Paulo is the State of Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.

Located in the heart of the biggest Brazilian city, São Paulo, Bovespa is the largest stock exchange in Latin America. Bovespa is linked to all Brazilian exchanges, including Rio de Janeiro's, where government stocks are traded.

The main index is the IBOVESPA.

The Bovespa Index is the main indicator of the Brazilian stock market’s average performance (the benchmark indicator of Bovespa). Ibovespa’s relevance comes from two facts: it reflects the variation of Bovespa’s most traded stocks and it has tradition, having maintained the integrity of its historical series without any methodological change since its inception in 1968.
